Bogotá DC, May 19, 2021. Germán Escobar, chief of staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, indicated that the country received 391,950 doses from the Pfizer laboratory this Wednesday afternoon, which are part of the bilateral agreement with this pharmaceutical house.
Escobar pointed out that this month, based on a bilateral acquisition, 1.6 million doses will arrive from Pfizer, while the multilateral COVAX mechanism will serve to receive 1,092,780 from this laboratory.
"This being the case, these doses will make it possible to continue advancing in the coverage of stage two of the plan and speed up the full opening of stage three and the progressivity in the opening of special groups in stage three, as is the case of teachers, for example," Escobar said.
It is important to remember that with the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan against Covid-19, as of 11:59 p.m., May 18, 2021, 7,718,287 doses have been administered, of which 2,958,890 correspond to second doses.
