Villamaría (Caldas), October 23, 2020. In Prevention and Action, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Fernando Ruiz, announced the approval of Resolution 1915, which will allocate resources for infrastructure and hospital provision to municipalities throughout the country to improve the quality of health service provision.

"We are allocating $ 109 billion for infrastructure works, physical elements and equipment in 128 projects that benefit more than 300 state social enterprises for the care of Covid-19," he said.

This aim of this investment, made with Fome resources, is to support small municipalities with first-level services, as well as second-level hospitals with strategic works that contribute to patient care during the remainder of the epidemic.

More than 300 municipalities have benefited from these resources, which will allow them to expand their installed capacity, improve patient coverage and provide more dignified care.

The projects evaluated and endorsed by the Health Ministry may begin in the coming weeks, since the resources will be delivered to the mayors' and governors' offices.

Visit to Manizales

Ruiz recalled that, starting last week, they have been working on the review of the strategy against Covid-19 in the province of Caldas and the city of Manizales in order to implement the PRASS program in this territory.

He also mentioned the participation of the Government in the inauguration of the Intensive Care Unit and the reopening of the Mental Unit of Unidad Mental del Hospital General San Isidro E.S.E., highlighting that these are actions that strengthen the province and the city for the care of citizens.

At the end of his speech, the head of the Health Ministry emphasized his message to Colombians to celebrate Halloween with responsibility, adopting the biosafety protocols and within the family nucleus to avoid new peaks.
